Today I was trying to decide what to write about and realized there are so many types of treatments that may help you, without expensive treatments. There are so many little things we can do to increase our ability to conceive, but when I sitting here trying to decide what to write about my mind goes blank. So — I thought this might be a good time to ask you to send me questions you may have about Acupuncture, Herbs, Diet, or Acupressure techniques and how they may help you. I love to share the knowledge I have learned through the years, so please write. It is free, and we may learn something from each other.

Yes, you would like to understand why your bbt chart is going up and down like a saw. In Oriental Medicine the diagnoses would be blood and qi stagnation. Or, easier to understand it as blockages. Is there something you can do? Yes — I alway start out with my patients on diet. As I wrote about before, cut out raw foods, add steamed veggies, lean meats, fish, and perhaps steam your fruit slightly. Cold foods increase stagnation. Cut out sweets, use Stevia or Agave if you need to have a sweet taste.

Put Castor oil on your abdomen during periods to help remove congestion. Put it on a cloth with a very hot cloth over it and leave on for 20 minutes. I use the Evergreen Herbs for my patients, or I make them a custom formula depending on pulse and tongue diagnoses. Evergreen makes some wonderful formulas that are very effective.

I change the formula depending on where the patient is in their cycle, or their underlying defiencies. It usually takes between 3-6 months to get a patients body to regulate. Does this always work? Absolutely not, although I would like to say it does. There are so many reasons for infertility. What I can say is the better ones health is, the better the body is working, the better the chances are for conceiving.

Keeping your diet pure and clean can be very helpful, whether you have been diagnosed with infertility or not. You do not want to drink sugar substitutes because they are not natural and your body has to do something with them. I have found that women who drink a lot of diet drinks, or use sugar substitutes have a increased chance of PCOS, joint pain, etc. Try using Stevia instead. It is all natural, good for blood sugars, etc.

Try steaming veggies and not eating alot of cold raw ones. While they can be good for you, raw veggies create Spleen Qi defiency and cold in the uterus. When trying to conceive you want to warm the uterus to increase the blood flow.

It is good to eat beans, lentils, fruits and veggies. Keep meat lean and small portions.

I have noticed that most people who read this blog live outside of Texas. So most of you I will never see, or know. I am saying that so that you understand I am not trying to get your business. My desire is to help teach women how Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine can balance the body. So many women that have been diagnosed with infertility, many have had IUIs, IVFs and other infertility treatments yet were not successful. Some of these women are lucky enough to hear about Acupuncture and after a few months of treatment they conceive.

After years of birth control, alcohol, smoking, a diet high in carbs, breathing cleaning products etc., we damage our bodies.

By getting the energy, and blood flowing. By cleansing your body with herbs, and then balancing your body with herbs and acupuncture your body begins to work as it is suppose to.

It usually takes between 3-6 months to become pregnant. If you or someone you know is going through infertility treatments, recommend that they find a Acupuncturists to balance their bodies before they begin expensive treatments. I recommend at least 3 months of acupuncture before procedures, because I have seen that it increases the chances of the procedures working.

Common Questions:

1. Do I need to go to a Acupuncturist who specializes in Infertility? No, you do not. That increases the price of the Acupuncture, plus what we do as Acupuncturist is balance the body, and find the harmony within, so that all of our internal organs work together. Talk to your friends and find someone they have gone to or like. Search the internet and find someone in your area. Make sure they have L.Ac.

2. Does it hurt? If it does change who your are seeing. It does not need to hurt. You may feel a little sting, pinch, or ache, but that is all.

3. What should I wear? Most of us keep gowns in our office, but I always suggest wearing loose clothing that you will be comfortable in.

4. What is the normal cost? Around $75.00. You will find some more and some less according to where you live. The first visit is often slightly more, but if it is a lot more, you can find someone else if you wish.

5. How long does it take? First visit is about 1 hour. We talk for awhile to make sure and understand the condition that we are treating, then we begin the treatment which lasts 20-30 minutes.

Have you are someone you know experienced this. What were the reasons. Before taking birth control pills period had always been normal. Since stopping there have been no periods. If you know about this or experience this please tell your story, or share your thoughts.
